    1. Something about owning a nice cookbook makes feel as fancy as the pages inside this book, and trust me: these pages are fancy, or at least aesthetically pleasing. Each picture by itself is enough stimulus to activate the salivary glands into over-drool. Together, Pat Sinclair and Joel Butkowski make me want to bake. Pat and Joel make me want to bake everything pictured -- from Julekake, blueberry rhubarb muffins, to hazelnut cake with chocolate ganache. Together, Pat and Joel make me want to eat [...]

    2. I rarely feel the need to purchase a cookbook. I mean, there's so many recipes available on the internet, and I'm still learning what I like to cook and bake, so I don't usually bother.However. There wasn't a single recipe in this book that I didn't want to try. EVEN THE RHUBARB ONES. I don't even LIKE rhubarb all that much, but the simple, clean, sparse presentation of the treats in this book make me want to go find some at the farmers market tomorrow. It'll be in my next book order for sure. Un [...]

    3. Wonderful pictures of both the food and the scandinvian countries make this a nice cookbook. There are not a huge number of recipes but all look good. This is a very specialized cookbook but the ingredient are simple and easy to find, which I think makes baking so much easier. The only real downside of the book is that I think the ingredient lists are setup oddly. It is difficult to tell in some recipes which are the ingredients for the main part as opposed to the toppings. Still, I am trying ou [...]

    4. The recipes in this book look sooo good! The pictures were gorgeous and made each dessert look scrumptious. I also thought the page layouts and recipes were displayed nicely. I'm definitely going to have to try one of these recipes soon. (I know it's a little bit unconventional to review a baking book before trying one of the recipes, but I haven't gotten a chance to bake yet. I'll probably update when I do!)*Taken from my book reviews blog: reviewsatmse/2011

    5. Most of the recipes were ones I had seen in various cookbooks including the Joy of Cooking. There were only 5 or so recipes that were distinctly different and said "Yes, I am Scandinavian!" and there weren't that many recipes to start with. Most of the book is photos of places & food. Definitely a book to get from a library and make photocopies of wanted recipes.

    6. All I can say is Yummm. I got this book through my library and I think that I am going to have to buy this. I loved everything that was in this and the explanation of some of the cultural traditions that surrounds the food. I found it to be very interesting. What made this even more special was that i am Scandinavian, so this is part of my heritage. Heart warming.
