    1. Canine citizens of a small town break their silence to protest an impending leash law. Their debates (with dogs and other humans) will be familiar to anyone who has participated in local politics or any kind of community organizing. Readers may not be expecting the philosophical discussions between one dog and his human, a college professor. But I am certain if my dogs could talk, they would be just as intellectual. :) A good part of the book is devoted to describing how the day the dogs talked [...]

    2. I thought this would be a charming book about dogs letting people know what they wanted. That is what the book was about, but it was not charming. In spite of the humor, there was a hard edge that I didn't like. It was more a statement about people and politics and philosophy. I can see that there could be some good discussion lines for a book group, but I just didn't like the book. I read the Kindle version, which I received as a complimentary copy in exchange for a review.
