    1. “My mind says go, My heart says lead.” The title of the first poem in Heather Bixler’s Desires of my heart sets the tone beautifully. Life isn’t about doing the right thing, but doing the right thing is about life lived free in the Lord. Similarly, desiring and reading God’s word isn’t about fulfilling some to-do list and looking for answers; it’s the pulse of a heart tuned to God. This short book of meditations invites the reader to ponder the difference, with Bible references rei [...]

    2. What does it take to delight in the Lord? This short concise read leads thru the word of encouragement and yes even delight. We start in the inside, what is our heart condition in respect to who God is. This can be very painful and if it is not, you are probably missing something. It's painful because we have to be broken. I don't know how many times I have read the word and said to myself. God this hard. I don't agree with this. I don't think you mean this for me. When I start thinking any of t [...]

    3. Desires of My Heart - Devotional eBook on Psalm 37: 4 by Heather Bixler is heart-warming and inspiring eBook devotional based on Psalm 37:4, which says “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart” (NIV).Two things struck a chord with me ~ the discussion on brokenness and Debbie’s Faith Story. We cannot delight ourselves in the Lord without being broken! I love Psalm 51:17, “The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repe [...]

    4. This is a very readable and encouraging book about strengthening our spiritual life. It is fairly short and to the point, yet the author’s style is warm and companionable. She cites appropriate Scripture to support her points and is easy to understand. I didn’t feel scolded by Heather but rather that she was sharing as a friend her own discovery of how to have a closer walk with God.She reminds us that true joy and peace and delight in the Lord comes when we ask for His help to clear out the [...]

    5. Once again, Heather Bixler makes you stop and gets you thinking. She has a gift from God. This is something all Christians probably should read from time to time to remind themselves who should be leading our lives and who is the one we should desire. It’s an easy read and short but a book you should keep close by to read time and time again. When things are getting a little busy, crazy, not going the right way, maybe it’s time to look at who you think is in control or who you're trying to p [...]

    6. So often we get consumed with doing what others wants us to do or what we think is right in our eyes. Desires of My Heart teaches us that it is important to follow the will of God to seek him for guidance in every area of our lives.

    7. Desires of My Heart – Meditation on Psalm 37:4, written by Heather Bixler, touched home for me in a lot of ways. I felt as I was reading through the pages of this book that it was written just for me. The author is very down to earth, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and talked about real-life issues – situations I can relate to. Due to the things going on in my life currently, I read this book at the right time. One of the reasons I wanted to read this book is because I have Psalm 37:4 stenciled [...]

    8. I didn't know what my expectations were with this book when I read it, but since Psalm 37:4 is one of my favorite verses of the Bible, I had to read it. And what I read really changed my attitude about the desires of my heart. I've always thought that it was just MY heart, and it was revelation to me when the author said that our desires should be God's desires. I took some time to step back and get my heart in alignment with God's desires for me. Luckily, His desires for us always mimic our des [...]

    9. I enjoyed this easy to read simple view of trusting God. By simple I do not mean childish. I mean that reading it made the idea of trusting God - with hopes, dreams, plans, and the secret desires of the heart - seem simple to understand. sometimes, trusting God can seem like something beyond my grasp, but Heather's heartfelt story of learning to trust God was moving! it's z REAL journey of struggle and surrender, and I appreciated her sharing.

    10. This book contains a great truth that we should align our heart's desire with God's desires and will and we will have greater peace because He is in control. It also contains several personal stories by other bloggers. However, there is not much substance beyond that. It's not necessarily a bad thing if you know that going in, but I had hoped for more.

    11. I found peace of heart as I read her words. Some times it's not easy following Gods wishes but if we make them our "desires of the heart" and not fight or try to do things our own way then God will make our way easy and peaceful. A really good book Heather.

    12. I was pretty disappointed in this book. It is repetitive, too short, and has almost no depth to it.There are definitely better devotionals out there.

    13. Great readThis is a great read that makes you dig deep but also is an easy read. I can’t wait to read more

    14. GoodBite-sized easy daily reading. Too short would have loved for it to be a little bit longer. Overall really good!
