    1. 3.5 Coming Clean Stars* * * 1/2I happen to enjoy sports themed books. I can appreciate the focus, desire and need to be great; also respect the sacrifices made. There can be a type of honor in sports if done right. There is also the aspect of business, though, which can sometimes tarnish all those efforts. This books touches on both of these things as well as another huge challenge: women in positions of power in sports leagues. It really doesn't matter which sport it is women have a hard time ri [...]

    2. Not a whole lot of romance but integral to the start of the series. Explains how hockey’s Seattle Sockeyes came to be. Stick with it if you really like behind the scenes hockey, otherwise you can skip to the next book.

    3. ☆ I received an ARC from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Thank you SO MUCH!! ☆#What a cute, sports romance! <3This book was basically:Undercover bossMeets hockeyBut with love(♥), lies, and twists and turns in the midst. My thoughts and some brief plot info and explanation:Skating on Thin Ice reminded me of what happens when you mix business with pleasure. # For Ethan Parker, rich, billionaire business mogul--hockey is his life. Determined to bring the sport he loves to [...]

    4. I liked this and I feel completely on the hook for the rest of the series (especially Cooper's story). But I did think the conflict was overdone. The heroine knew, she saw the writing on the wall, heard the rumors, put two and two together, but still signed a contract and cried "foul" and "liar", when the truth was out. Maybe if the chemistry had been better established, or there had been more heart-to-hearts about past issues, I could have swallowed that they were a love match. I did like it, l [...]

    5. Ethan has finally realized his dream of bringing the NHL to Seattle, and he can't wait to start looking at the details of the team more closely. Luckily, he has Lauren, Assistant Director of Player Personnel to help him gather the information he wants. It also doesn't hurt that there is quite a bit of chemistry between the two. The problem: Ethan can't tell Lauren he is the new team owner due to a gag order from the league. Lauren has been lied to before; once she finds out she has been deceived [...]

    6. While I didn't think it would be my thing I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out, it wasn't my thing. Ah well, on to the next book.

    7. Jami Davenport writes an exciting hockey romance with sizzling chemistry and just the right amount of tension. Ethan Williams has always been obsessed with hockey and his dream has been to buy a professional hockey team. Ethan comes to gather information about the Giants a professional hockey team while they are in the playoffs and he is keeping his real identity a secret from everyone. While he is there, Ethan doesn’t count on meeting Lauren. Lauren is assigned to help Ethan and answer any qu [...]

    8. First of all: Buy this in digital format only. Do not buy it in paperback. By the time I got to the end of this book, I was desperate for the next book. If I would have had a paperback, I would have torn it apart looking for it. I checked the last 10 pages like 15 times trying to find more of the next book. I felt like a junkie looking for heroin. Mrs. Davenport set the bar super high with the first book in this series. It is about the leader of a group bringing hockey to Seattle from Florida. H [...]

    9. "I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."I love hockey / sports romance stories and Jami Davenport is one of the best authors in this genre - so I was delighted when I got a copy of this great story to read. Once again a great new series hits the scene and adds to my must read list. The story is cleverly plotted, as one protagonist knows all and sees the train crash approaching, but just cannot resist getting on anyway. The heat between the two leads is natural, a [...]

    10. FreebieEven though I technically quickly skimmed this I'm going to call it a DNF. I found the writing very repetitive. We're shown and then told over and over the same things. The focus was one the lusty thoughts these two had for each other repeatedly and why they shouldn't act on it. Both MC's ended up coming across as juveniles ruled by their hormones and physical reactions to each other. I prefer a more emotional connection and find constant descriptions of lusty reactions tiresome. The emot [...]

    11. I loved Rachel Gibson's Chinook hockey series, and I started this hoping it might come close. It does! This is a great start to a new hockey series, and I look forward to the next in the series. I understand Crashing the Boards, numbered 1.5, will be available Nov. 1 as a single. It's now available in an anthology.

    12. This took me a bit to get into for whatever reason, but once I did I was sucked in and really enjoyed it! I like sports romance anyway and this was was a good one. I liked the characters and their romance, even if I didn't like their circumstances. Not his (or her) fault BTW. I was happy with the ending and hope to continue the series!

    13. 2.5 stars. It was slow. I did not feel the connection. He really lied to her and then left her to stew in it for WEEKS. I just could not find any redeeming qualities in Ethan and really felt no connection between them. Did not like it.

    14. This was a free download from , but that was not an influence on my review.I enjoyed this slightly steamy romance setting up a hockey/sports romance series. There is definitely no shortage of hot guys and/or women to set up a good story. This one gives us Ethan - a billionaire heading up a committed group of investors who are dedicated to bringing professional hockey to Seattle - and the team that's available is in Florida and currently headed for the playoffs. Through a somewhat convoluted seri [...]

    15. Author/series tropes not for me see book #3 (view spoiler)[cheating IMO (hide spoiler)]/review/showe book #4 (view spoiler)[sibling sloppy seconds (hide spoiler)]

    16. Rating: 2 starsPromising premise, but awful execution. The writing was so annoying, and nothing moved at a good pace. The chemistry was pretty unbelievable, too. Overall, not a good choice.

    17. Good book and a very nice start to a series, but it obviously is the first book in a series because several plot lines were unresolved at the end of the book. The main characters were interesting and fairly well-drawn, but the set-up for the “big misunderstanding” was obvious from the first, as was its resolution.

    18. Skating on Thin Ice (Game On in Seattle #1) by Jami Davenport Review Billionaire, Ethan Parker, is on a mission to bring a professional hockey team to Seattle. 20. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.Skating on Thin Ice is a great start to Ms. Davenport’s new Game On in Seattle series. Being a fan of her Seattle Lumberjacks series, I was excited for the opportunity to read this book. I enjoy sports romances and am finding that hockey-based sports romances are becoming a favorite – despite my lack of actual exposure to the sport. Fortunately, this book does not disappoint.Lauren hails from a hockey family and would be [...]

    21. Skating on Thin Ice is the first book in the Game On In Seattle series. I'll admit I'm not a very big ice hockey fan, but this story was a great way to introduce those who are on the fence about reading sports romances. Author Jami Davenport is a huge sports fan and sure shines through in this book about the game of hockey and the game of love! After secretly purchasing a failing hockey team, the Gainsville Giants, billionaire Ethan Parker goes undercover in order to study his newly acquired team [...]

    22. Posted on What I'm ReadingA couple of months ago Jami and few other authors collaborated and made a hockey anthology called Seduce By The Game. Well, her story in the anthology was called Crashing the Boards. I liked it, but didn't feel like it was complete and needs more to story. Anyway, Skating On Thin Ice actually is prior to Crashing the Board. So, we see how Ethan acquires the Seattle Sockeyes, but they aren't called that yet. Anyway, I enjoyed Skating On Thin Ice, because all that is goin [...]

    23. Great Hockey love story. Hockey brought Ethan and Lauren together and almost tore them apart. I loved how much respect Ethan had for Lauren's knowledge of the game , He wanted her to help him build the team not hold her back from her passion for the game even though he was not telling her the whole truth about why he was interested in the team. Both Lauren and Ethan has been burned before and were weary about getting into a relationship. When Lauren found out that Ethan had been lying to her she [...]

    24. "Skating on Thin Ice" is the first book in Jami Davenport's Game On In Seattle series, and it can be read as a stand-alone book. This story features Ethan Parker and Lauren Schneider.Ethan Parker has always loved hockey and dreamed of bringing a professional hockey team to his hometown of Seattle, Washington. His dream has now become a reality. He was able to purchase the Gainesville Giants from team owners - the Sleezer brothers. There's just 1 catch. The league has put him under a gag order, s [...]

    25. Skating on Thin Ice held a number of firsts for me; the first book I have read by Jami Davenport, the first focussing around ice-hockey and the first in a new series. And, whilst it didn't hold any particular surprises, on the whole it was a promising start to the series; sweet and enjoyable with some drama and an injection of hot along the way. When Ethan Parker's dreams come true and he's given the opportunity to purchase the Giants, an established ice hockey team in Florida, he grabs it. Slapp [...]

    26. Earlier this year I read and reviewed Seduced By The Game, an amazing compilation of hockey romance novella’s with the proceeds going to cancer! I loved the entire book, but the best part for me was discovering Jami Davenport with her novella, Crashing the Boards! (Which is actually the sequel to Skating on Thin Ice…) Of course fast forward a few months and I have now read and reviewed ALL of Jami’s books and totally fan-girl out over interacting with her on facebook! So when she asked if [...]

Check out more of my reviews on my blog gemmreadstoomuchforittomenormal.b3.5 starsSkating on Thin Ice is book #1 in the Game on in Seattle Series, this is the first book I have read by this author and I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review so here goesSports romances are not normally at the top of my TBR list but having read the blurb this book appealed to me.I love Ethan he’s rich, sexy and ruthless all very good leading man qualities but for me I would have loved fo [...]

    28. **I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**3.5 STARSEthan Parker wants a hockey team in Seattle. He has the funds to make it happen when a Florida Giants team is falling into bankruptcy. The only catch is the gag order. He cannot talk about the transaction of him acquiring the team and moving them across the country. This doesn't seem to be a problem until he pretends he is someone else working as a consultant. When he meets Lauren, all bets are off. He is intrig [...]
