    1. Calderwood's poems speak to the longing for the love of one's life only to discover that it is a minefield filled with faults and fractures. Many of the poems detail a bi-coastal relationship that the author relishes, yet is clear about the problems it entails. Found the speaker cool and distant. Section four poems very clever, almost don't belong in this volume.
