    1. Wanted to wait until I read at least the first two glass beach books before trying out this short holiday story. Most of the characters from Crush and Bright are gathered at Monty and Walter's house in Idaho to have Thanksgiving. It's a funny, cheerful story (which is a real relief if you've read the novels), but if you dislike vegans or Peta or animal welfare issues, the recipes and commentary will annoy or enrage you. There's no animal abuse at all, not even to the "title" character. But anyon [...]

    2. A cute short story celebrating togetherness in the thanksgiving spirit.Told from multiple points of view, we see a holiday through the eyes of a family; the ones chosen and the ones made. I think this story will be a special treat for anyone having read any of Laura's previous books (bright and crush) as we revisit the characters from both stories. Personally, Justin (the turkey) stole the show.Thank you to the author for their time and effort in such a worthy cause.

    3. REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCEPart of an anthologyThis is a very short story with a lot of characters and would probably be a little easier to follow if you have read both the books it is connected to; I had only read the first one. It focuses on bringing together family for Thanksgiving. It starts with the panic of tidying the house and all the preparations. The arrival of your guests and all the mayhem that follows. The reminiscing of family members passed or the awful ones you no longer hav [...]

    4. I'm confused; too many characters to remember in such a short story, and most of them never become more than names. The turkey was nice, but the vegan food didn't really wet my appetite then again, I'm not a vegan, so perhaps shouldn't really judge, but nicer food would have lifted the story a bit for me

    5. Re-read 11/25/16: liked this story much more the second time around! Now I think I'd like to read Tam and Jamie's story, and maybe more if this quirky little family!
