    1. An excellent account of Blairs government from 2001 to 2007. The book starts off with 9/11 and gives a fascinating insight into how to this led to Afghanistan and Iraq and how this overshadowed Blair’s last years. Blair’s relationships with key figures such as Bush and Brown make fascinating reading and go some way to dispelling the “poodle” account of his dealing with Bush. The book makes a strong argument that Blair was very influential in getting Bush and the G8 to commit to climate c [...]

    2. Really good - but raised the need for another book. I am now looking for a book that basically compares the interventions in Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Northern Ireland and Iraq, and why certain interventions like Sierra Leone and Bosnia are largely deemed successful, and why Iraq was not. What were the different factors? To what extent did these interventions influence Blair in Iraq?

    3. Majestic in the minutiae, made even more spectacular by the fact it was published mere weeks after the end of Blair's reign. It isn't analytical, but the travails of Blair and those closest to him are compellingly narrated. You can't help but regret that Blair - at a unique and opportune moment in British history - didn't develop his domestic policies and ideology in a much more robust manner until the tail end of his term. He was a true statesman, but tragically will be remembered for Iraq rath [...]

    4. Very fair-minded and detailed account of Blair's Premiership (2001-2007). Can't help thinking that many of Seldon's conclusions will stand the test of time, and that this book will keep its value for years to come.

    5. I read it because it was bought for me and wasn't sure if I wanted to plunge in. However it was not hard work and I found myself staying up late and in the end I had to stay in on a Saturday night to finish it off. Great insight and not slimy as many biographies can be

    6. Very disappointing. Discovered that Blair and Adonis started wrecking the UK school system which is being carried on by Cameron. Will not be able to finish as so depressing.
