    1. I AM reading this whole series as it was a gift. It takes place where i grew up and secondly it involves a bookstore! There the thrill ends tho. I said it before and i'll say it once more here.I wish there was more involvement with the bookshop! In this one, a church finance committee member finds a major withdrawal, done without approval.     2. "Cooking the Books" is part of the Guidepost series called Secrets of Mary's Bookshop. They were written by various authors. This was the first book I've read of this series. It was just okay. The mystery consists of missing church funds. It had nothing to do with the bookshop that the series is named after at all. There is a lot of religion in this story.
