    1. An Ordinary Magic is beautifully written. Author Jason Thibeault successfully pulled me into his Caribbean world of magic, family, and power. Not only is this a captivating read containing a plot thick with magical realism, it also has an emotional story between a father and son. I love the way the veil is thin between the living and the dead, so we can see the full spectrum of the different characters, both human and spirit. This is a book that I would read again and that is rare for me.

    2. What makes this book unique in the field of seeing magic involved is that the magic isn’t where we get the true story. It is the family and what the true magic is for Panon. The magic that is true and real here is love. Panon’s love for his town, his people and his family. It is this love that shatters all the illusions and keeps him fighting for his son. It takes a magic story and brings a whole new feel and element to that world.I really didn't know what to expect.
