    1. Poor Lacy Williams! Never has a deserving heroine been saddled with such adversity as this lovely Native American maiden. Lacy longs to escape from her reservation near turn-of-the-century Pendleton Oregon and make her own way in the world. Ever since the untimely death of her mother, her father has stubbornly kept to the old traditions and refuses to embrace the "white man's ways." He has already arranged a marriage for Lacy to Phillip, another man who is so hide-bound that he still lives in a [...]

    2. Lacy is an Indian girl and the main character in Book 5 of the Pendleton Petticoat series. Though she respected her Fathers roots in traditional Indian ways, Lacy wanted more. She wanted to move more toward the future. Against her Fathers wishes she refused to marry Phillip RedHawk, who, like her Father, was rooted in the "old ways". Lacy came to town obtaining employment at the switchboard, a room in exchange for cleaning for her landlords, and fell in love with Grant Hill, the wealthy banker o [...]

    3. I thoroughly enjoyed Lacy and Grant's story! I loved their characters, I loved how sweet Grant was, and the little things he'd do for Lacy. The story was well paced, and I loved that the characters overcame hardships and were stronger because of them. I really just loved everything about it. I can't seem to get enough of this author's books. She really does know how to craft an amazing story! This is one book that I'd love to have in the print version as well. So good!

    4. AwesomeThis is another great book in the Pendleton series I have enjoyed seeing the characters transform and persevere through opposition.

    5. A Wonderful Addition To A Wonderful SeriesAnother wonderful book by one of my favorite authors. I love Grant from the other books and knew he would make a great hero of his very own. Good looking, sensitive, caring and helpful to friends and the community, he wishes he could find the woman who would look past his money and love him for the man he is. Lacy, is a perfect match for him. Lovely and very determined to find her own way in life is just so sweet and adorable, you just can't help root fo [...]

    6. I enjoyed the characters of Lacy and Grant, and it was nice to see Grant finally getting some love! :) I loved learning about the Native American culture from this area at the time. That was a nice addition to this series. As with all the books I've read by Shanna Hatfield, the physical nature of the romances is a little much for my tastes and feels inappropriate for the time period, but it does stay clean and I enjoy her characters enough to overlook it. All in all, a pleasant read and I look f [...]

    7. Enjoyed reading Grant and Lacy's story about overcoming their tradition boundaries. Grant's mom's attitude really surprised me, I was happy with the way Grant stood up to her and told her the way she was treating Lacy was not acceptable. Good for him! As much as I liked these two characters, their story didn't hold me captive as much as previous books.

    8. Very good story. Some problems with POV, but not so serious as to interfere with the story line. It was nice to introduce a character from the Umatilla Reservation. I very much enjoyed it and look forward to the next book "Bertie".

    9. Each book in the series just got better and better and I found myself sad when the series ended. Hatfield does a lot of research into her books and always notes at the end of the book some of the things she learned in her research which I always find fascinating.

    10. I feel like I've just spent a long weekend in Pendleton catching up with old friends. I love this series and hope it never ends.

    11. True to the other books in this series, Lacy was a fantastic read with characters you care a great deal about. I can't wait for the next book to come out!
