    1. Lovely conclusion to the series. I am really going to miss all the characters I've gotten to know over the last several years. In this one, the romance is sweet and gentle, and the suspense builds to an intense confrontation.Dev has moved across the country for a fresh start. In her previous posting she was stalked and assaulted by a coworker. One of the effects of the attack was to aggravate her PTSD from her time in the Marines, and she hopes that the move will allow her to get past it. Sloan [...]

    2. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but OUT RIDER was sweet, tender and packed an unexpected emotional punch. I especially loved how perceptive Sloan was when it came to Dev and how gentle he was with her.A burst tire is what brings Dev McGuire and Sloan Rankin's lives in alignment but it is their immediate connection and shared interests that will keep them together and heal them. Dev moved almost half way across the country to avoid a former co-worker who stalked and [...]

    3. Out Rider is the eleventh installment in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming series featuring former military members in a western setting. This is the second book in this series that I’ve read, and I was instantly at home with these characters. The book was written as a standalone, just featuring a new set of main characters with some recurring secondary characters that span all of books. This installment wasn’t as heavy on the military aspects as the previous book since both of the main characters we [...]

    4. This is a sweet, tender and unexpected emotional read from a busted tire to a total connection from the start. Dev had a stalker who is an ex co-worker who assaulted her. She moves as far away as she can to get away from him. Sloan’s marriage failed he still has the scares to show it. Both are not interested in a relationship but when two are a attracted as these two are with some powerful chemistry flying around well sparks will fly as they dance around the passion they have for each other. D [...]

    5. Its been awhile since I read an outdoorsy type story, and even longer since I've read romantic suspense.I've read Lindsay McKenna before, back when she wrote for Silhouette and Harlequin. I enjoyed her books and I enjoyed Out Rider.Sloan and Dev are two strong characters. Both are ex military and I found that really interesting and exciting. That put Dev at a totally different level from most romance novel. She's also the character with the most baggage both with her family and her personal life [...]

    6. Out Rider is the eleventh book in the Jackson Hole Series. The thing that I do like about this series is that the stories can all be read as stand alone books. While other characters in the series show up, I have never felt like I was missing out. In Out Rider, Dev has transferred to Wyoming to work at the ranger station there. She is fleeing her stalker/attacker and trying to make a new life. A chance meeting with Sloan, a fellow ranger, makes her see that life might be better in the mountains [...]

    7. Lindsay McKenna is a dream to read! Out Rider is the final book in the Wyoming Series, bringing back all the wonderful people in Jackson Hole, who we've come to love through these glorious stories. Iris Mason and Miss Gus come alive through these pages and make us wish we could be part of their families.Ms. McKenna skillfully and beautifully builds relationships like a master architect, using the finest of tools. When Devorah (Dev) McGuire relocates to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to work as a Forest R [...]

    8. Read the full review on Bookaholics Not-So-Anonymous.Note: This ARC was provided by HQN Books in exchange for an honest review. This was a good, slow burn love story that has two very strong main characters that you can't help but like. With everything that they've been through in their respective lives, Dev and Sloan deserve their happily-ever-after, but no one ever said getting there would be easy. Learning to trust Sloan isn't a simple feat, not with the men in Dev's past showing her that her [...]

    9. Along with this being a great story, it was fun to catch up with all the folks in Ms. McKenna’s previous Jackson Hole, Wyoming books. Out Rider is about Dev (Devorah) McGuire and Sloan Rankin. Dev and Sloan have an immediate connection, although they let it sit on the back burner as they have just met. Just a tidbit about the story: Dev has just arrived in Jackson Hole to start a new job with the US Forest Service, where Sloan happens to work as well. They meet when Dev has a flat tire on her [...]

    10. I have really loved this entire series. I love how the old characters are brought into the scene and add life to the book not just to fill space but to contribute. These characters are so real. I can see the Tetons in the imagery and feel the panic when things go wrong. Fighting PTSD is a long road that can be helped with understanding like minded people and this story proves that even though the military experiences are a big cause of PTSD that trauma of any kind can be a trigger too. Sloan and [...]

    11. Originally published at Reading RealityI picked up Out Rider because I enjoyed the previous book in this series, Night Hawk. But Night Hawk was book 10 in the Jackson Hole series, and Out Rider is book 11. While I didn’t feel that I was missing anything in Night Hawk by not having read the rest of the series, Out Rider has a lot of very lovely involvement with previous couples and other characters in the series, and I did feel a bit left out.I also had some mixed feelings about the plot, but n [...]

    12. this was a great story. Scary thinking about someone following you and not knowing what to do. Lucky for her Sloan is there to help. Definitely recommend this book

    13. Summary from :"A fresh start—that's all Devorah McGuire wants. As a former Marine and current Ranger with the US Forest Service, she's grown accustomed to keeping others safe. But when the unthinkable happens, she can only hope that a transfer to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, will allow her to put the past behind her for good.Dev's mentor at Grand Tetons National Park is fellow canine handler and horseman Sloan Rankin. He shows Dev the spectacular trails, never knowing the terror that stalks her ever [...]

    14. Trigger warning. Dev is being stalked by a man who tried to rape her. The description of the attempted rape is pretty intense. Dev fought him off, and really did great standing up for herself, but it is definitely something to be aware of.I loved this story. It was a little more suspenseful than most other McKenna books, but it was definitely a beautiful love story of survival and family. McKenna did a great job of wrapping up the Jackson Hole series and saying goodbye to so many of the beloved [...]

    15. I don't care how many books I read, what genres I read, or how much I love a certain book- romance is and will always be my absolute favorite genre. I'll read just about anything within that, except historical is kind of meh for me, but I'm not turning it down when I'm in the mood. Yes, I realize so many readers roll their eyes when you say romance is your favorite but I really don't care. It's always entertaining, I always fly through them, and I just really adore Harlequin. It's probably best [...]

    16. ***I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review, which was originally posted on book blog Will Read for Feels.I wanted to like Lindsay McKenna’s Out Rider, book 11 in her Jackson Hole series, I really did. There was a lot the premise had going for it that was right up my alley, and these items I actually enjoyed. The story was set in a small town in a real valley near a real national park i [...]

    17. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 4 stars.Devorah (Dev) McGuire is transferring to a new job as a forest ranger in Grand Teton National Park. Not far outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming, her horse trailer blows a tire, and a tall, handsome man pulls up behind her to offer his assistance. He's Sloan Rankin, who not only turns out to also be a forest ranger and farrier, but whose apartment is right across the hall from the one Dev rented, sight unseen. Dev [...]

    18. Dev served a tour in Afghanistan with her canine companion, lost the man she was engaged to, got out, became an Forest Ranger all to get assaulted by another former military canine handler turned park ranger. But as in some cases, the man gets the benefit of the doubt and backing of the "good ol' boys" in charge until he does something so vicious every one has to sit up and take notice.Running from that situation Dev transfers to the Wyoming national park where she meets Sloan. A farrier/park ra [...]

    19. Sloan and Dev prove, that it is possible to learn to love, and trust, again, even though life has shown her less attractive side to them on several occasions in the past. Sloan and Dev are solid together, the connection is immediate, they are drawn to each other, and attracted to each other, but first, they take their time, become friends, confidant, and get to know each other, before they act upon anything. I liked that. Sloan is so understanding, tender, and gentle with Dev. He understands whe [...]

    20. This is the finale to the series Jackson Hole. It's a fast-paced romantic suspense that creates a love story between two lost souls and ends with a HEA. What a nice touch to bring in the previous characters from the series and let us know how they areDevorah McGuire "Dev" is a fomer Marine turned Forest Ranger and her transfer is taking her to Jackson Hole, WY where she is hoping to make a fresh start. Dev was stalked and attacked by a co-worker and it has brought on her PTSD from her deployment [...]

    21. OUT RIDER is another wonderful installment in Lindsay McKenna's Wyoming series. Ms. McKenna has created several military veteran characters and assimilated them into the fabric of everyday life. Sometimes that is very hard for her characters, as they have experienced great tragedies that civilians can't begin to understand. Dev and Sloan are both ex-military and very strong, but fractured characters. They are surrounded by several supporting characters that are also ex-military. Some of their st [...]

    22. Dev McGuire is a US Forest Service ranger. When she's transferred to Jackson Hole, WY, she hopes that the troubles she encountered previously haven't followed her. She arrives unauspiciously, meeting another ranger and farrier when he stops to help her with a blown tire on her horse trailer. Dev and Sloan have lots in common, including their love of animals and military experience as canine handlers. And it's a good thing, because the man who stalked Dev earlier has come back to find and punish [...]

    23. 3 STARSI really liked the plot. Devorah has transferred to Jackson Hole, Wyoming after being stalked at her old job and did not get the help she needed till after she was attacked. Here Dev meets a lot of friends who welcome her and care about her.The characters are ones I like and am glad to see a bunch of secondary characters back from previous books.Devorah McGuire is a Forest ranger. Her dog is a trained search and rescue dog.Sloan Rankin see's Dev get a flat tire on her horse trailer and st [...]

    24. Dev McGuire came to the Tetons for a fresh start after leaving the Smoky Mountains and her stalker behind. He was arrested for assault but only got a minimum sentence thanks to the “good ole boy” network. The judge even made a remark that it was Dev’s fault for being so pretty. Hired on as a ranger with the U.S. Forest Service, she meets Sloan Rankin, also a ranger, when he stops to help her with a flat tire. There was something about Sloan that made Dev realize he was a man she could depe [...]

    25. This is an exciting story about two Forest rangers who both had been in the military as dog handlers and were able to keep their dogs when they were also injured. Deborah McGuire transferred from the Great Smoky Mountain National park to the Teton National park in hopes of escaping a stalker who had tried to hurt her. She met Sloan Rankin who turned out to be her rescuer in many way especially when the stalker showed up in Jackson Hole.

    26. "Bringing two military veterans together, this compassionate love story explores the path to healing. Set in the Wyoming wilderness, the Forest Service is the perfect refuge for these wounded souls. Danger still follows the heroine, but she has found a partner who will add his strength to her considerable perseverance" (4 stars @ RT Book Reviews).

    27. I enjoyed this book and loved the characters, including the dogs. There was a little too much sex. I can't believe I'm saying that but the last few pages weren't really needed. I liked the way the author threw in some facts such as dogs shouldn't eat chocolate and sexual assault within the military is a serious problem. Fun with a little important information.

    28. 5 stars all around. I love this series and this is a wonderful book. No spoiler alerts here, just pick it up and sit back and enjoy.
