While this collection has been presented as a companion to Evola's mature essays on fascism and Nazism, some of these essays were actually written during the tumult of the fascist era and thus reveal more of the fully invigorated and optimistic Evola, resembling the style evoked in The Metaphysics of War, and anticipating the themes present in Men Among the Ruins.
