    1. This is a really hard book to rate, because the first 2/3 of it was pretty good edging up to 4. And then it suddenly went *completely* off the rails and stopped making any sense/feeling realistic whatsoever. It was like if Pretty Woman suddenly turned into Die Hard or something. The book completely switched genres, had zero to do with the relationship between the MCs and suddenly was this unbelievable (in a bad way) action/adventure novel complete with total ridiculous crap. (view spoiler)[Sudde [...]

    2. This book!I've never read anything quite like it and I enjoyed it immensely despite how over the top far-fetched everything is. It's like James Bond meets Miami Vice with homeless assassin teenage models and rock stars thrown in the mix. Sounds crazy right? But it works! This is escapism to the extreme. I love all the exotic locals, accents Every new experience the author opened me up to. There were a few eye rolling moments for me but it's to be expected right? After all ass kicking supermodels [...]

    3. Kyle Marchane is being stalked by a teacher at his school. Everywhere Kyle goes, the man is there too and he can't seem to avoid him. The teacher, Roman Nigel, hasn't actually done anything incriminating quite yet, almost as if he knows what he can get away with, as if he's done this before. He stands too close, invades Kyle's space and Kyle's instincts are clearly telling him something is not quite right and he should get as far away from the man as possible,So Kyle starts skipping school, turn [...]

    5. 3.5 Heart Review by KatThis is the first novel by new author Parker Avrile. I have to admit, it started off really slowly and I had no idea where she was going with this book. I went back to the book blurb and kept wondering if this really was the same book. The book was suppose to be in Vegas but it was somewhere in England, I believe, and it was a 14-year-old school boy. Add to the fact that they were speaking in thick English slang that I had no idea what they were saying. It wasn’t until p [...]

    7. A Joyfully Jay review. 3.25 starsThe Runaway Model is the first book in a three book series. Though the author claims that this book is cliffhanger free, readers will quickly realize that the story is far from being told and will have to wait to read the second book in order to start getting some answers. Before I continue this review, I will warn readers that the story contains a child predator, attempted kidnapping, and date rape drugs being given. The first third of the book deals with Kyle fro [...]

    8. I was given a copy of this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.Kyle is 14 and is the attention of one of his teachers. Mr Nigel appears everywhere that Kyle goes and somehow manages to get in with his mother. Kyle then runs away.I enjoyed the majority of this story. It was a little hard for me to suspend belief that Kyle was able to travel from Manchester to Vegas as he did. I know he was a thief but all I kept thinking was really? He would have enough for the fare etc. On [...]

    9. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Runaway Model is a gay romance that while not particularly profound invests in its characters only to shift genres entirely about two thirds into it. This jarring shift, from love story to thriller, does a disservice to the novel as a whole as it stretches the credibility of the plot almost to the point of absurdity. What the novel does best is its immersion in its cast, namely the two main characters: Kyle, the young English r [...]

    10. Reviewed by Brandyjo Newton for QUEERcentric BooksI was blown away by The Runaway Model by Parker AvrileE WRITING SEEMED TO COME FROM A WELL-SEASONED WRITER.I hadn’t heard of this particular author before, and after reading this I came to be even more impressed that this book seems to be the first publication. That alone is admirable, considering the writing seemed to come from a well-seasoned writer. This book had a slow build up that just kept growing and growing until it all exploded into th [...]

    11. I received a free copy of this book through the M/M Romance Group’s Don’t Buy My Love’s review program in exchange for an honest review. Kyle Marchane runs away to Vegas from Manchester, England at the age of sixteen in order to get away from his sleazy teacher, Roman Nigel, who sets his sights on Kyle’s mom. He’s able to get by without selling his body thanks to the skills he’s learned in pick pocketing and small time thieving. He also has caught the attention of rock star Stoney R [...]

    12. 3.5 stars but intriguing. This was a bit of a difficult writing style for me. The story was interesting. There's a multi-millionaire and a runaway, England-to-Vegas, music-blogger, hustler boy turned model, but it's nothing like any of the trope-y, rich man-poor boy novels that seem to get turned out. The time frames and characters seem to jump from one scene to the next. It's a little disorienting and made me wonder just where the story was headed. But there's some depth to the characters within [...]

    13. I think the author did a great job of pulling the reader in at the beginning of the book with an interesting back story for her main character. I mean a teacher, stalker that's insinuating himself into a teenager's life through his single mother is just creepy and a wonderful way to set up a villain for the story's over all arc.I loved Avrile's use of regional dialect through Kyle and Stoney's dialog and think it adds a depth to the story that makes her characters believable and her world richer [...]

    14. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Thank you Parker for gifting me with this story.Characters: 4.5Plot: 4Plot execution: 3.7Believability: 3Overall: 3.8 stars, rounding up to 4.(view spoiler)[I was with it until the ending. It's not that the ending was bad - the plot itself was good - I just felt it was executed in a non-reality-based-believable-way. It would be impossible for me to explain in enough detail, so I will do my best to summarize it: Bryce is very r [...]

    15. Not a good book for me. The back story was choppy, by the end I didn't care who was saved from who. Dialogue was boring and tiresome, I glanced thru the last half of the book just to see what happens. Go read some of Mary Calmes if you think this is good, you will see what you're missing.

    16. Man-boy SicknessDNF. Ridiculous story line, and I am not at all a fan of man-boy relationships. This book should start with a warning to the effect that it is about cradle robbing.

    17. I was gifted this book by the author through the Don't Buy My Love program through the MM Group. My thanks to the organizers and the author for the opportunity to read this book. A rating of 2.5 but scored down because frankly, I liked it but it was just ok. I had a number of issues that I'll list.1. Though it's tagged as a romance and I gave it that tag, it's not really a romance. It's more of a coming of age with romantic elements. Very little actual romance. There are interactions between a c [...]

    18. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. The blurb and the story confused me a bit when I first started reading. I had to check the blurb to what I was reading a few times because it just didn't seem like the same story. Kyle at the start of the book is fourteen years old. His life revolves around blogging about a musician named Stoney Rockland, whom he is a major fan of. His home life is nothing to talk about and he finds himself catching the unwanted attention of his math teache [...]

    19. The blurb for this book is extremely inaccurate and misleading. There isn't really much romance in this book at all. This is a story about Kyle and all the hardships he has had to go through in his life. If you're looking for a romance with a little angst, this isn't your book. It's more angst with a little romance, and some action. Even what there is for romance doesn't play out like the blurb would make you believe. You don't meet Bryce until chapter 4 or so, and even then he's not in the book [...]

    20. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.A couple days after finishing this book I'm still not sure how I feel about it. It started out a bit factual and more tell than show, but slowly flowed into story and dragged you in. You wanted to know what was going to happen next, and Parker kept throwing curve balls at you. A well built story to sink your teeth into.Kyle's character was charming and I felt as fascinated as everybody else, but by the diametrical sides of his c [...]

    21. This book was provided free in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoyed this story, mostly given to the fact that I was as captivated by Kyle as everyone in the novel seemed to be. There is something very endearing about him, despite the fact that an honest description of him would not portray a very sympathetic figure. Yet, I liked that he understood from the beginning how creepy Nigel was, and I thought the way he sought to protect his mother spoke very highly of him. Who knows what Kyle [...]

    22. *** Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review. ***Kyle runs away from his home in England to escape from his Maths teacher/stalker, who doesn't seem to know what student/teacher boundaries are. He escapes to Las Vegas, where at 16 he continues to try to make a name for himself as a music blogger for Stoney Rockland. Fast forward two years and Kyle is still living in Vegas, practically homeless, but getting by hustling and pickpocketing, when he meets Bryce, a mi [...]

    23. This is a book based on more of a mystery/suspense with a little bit of loving going on. You never know what is going to go down once you turn the next corner or who is going to be involved. The story starts when Kyle is 14 years old and his math teacher starts to obsess over him. At 16 Kyle runs away to America and meets his idol Stoney. At 18 the story really begins.Kyle in my opinion has no control over what is happening in his world so that is why he latched on to the first thing that feels r [...]

    24. This was a nice book to read, it had some ups and downs but I enjoyed reading it.I was a little lost at the first half of it and I wasn’t getting too interested by it, but there was something about it that made me keep reading and as I keep doing it, it got better and better. The last pages were very exciting and I couldn’t put it down.I had the exact opposite feelings about the main characters. I loved Bryce, he was a likable character and his emotions are the ones I felt the most realistic [...]

    25. *I got a free copy for an honest review.*It was my first free book for an honest review so I was kinda nervous about what to do if I really didn't like the book. Fortunately I liked it. The best thing about the book is the way Kyle is described. The reader gets the chance to follow his development over 4 Years. Sometimes it hurt and it wasn't easy to like him but then he changed and made the best of his situation. I didn't even recognize the moment I went from being skeptical about Kyle's charac [...]

    26. I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review. The Runaway Model by Parker Avrile was a an interesting change from many of the books I have read recently. Avrile is able to not only have the other characters confused and questioning about what Kyle is doing and why but also the reader. Unlike many who let the reader in on everything and it is just the characters who can't figure out the main character it is not the case here. Then again, Kyle is an adept liar and con man whe [...]

    27. Original review on Molly LollyThree stars!I wanted to like this story more than I did. There’s some plot holes that are hard to overlook and the emotions between the characters felt wooden and forced. I didn’t really believe the love they claim to have based on their limited interactions. There wasn’t enough of Bryce’s backstory in this book. It seems like he’s got more story to tell and more background to give. Though I also wanted more feeling from him too. Kyle was hard to like but I [...]
