    1. I was given an advance copy of the book for an honest review.I truly love Nicks books. I am a HUGE zombie fan! I literally just finished it. I was so excited to see what goodies Nick had in store for us this time around. And he does not disappoint. This thriller had suspense, action, laugh worthy moments, zombies and so much more. If you loved the first book, you will enjoy this book also. These guys are trying to stay alive and you must read to see if they make it or not! a truly gripping story! [...]

    2. My full Die Trying: A Zombie Apocalypsereview can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.I have never been as tense while listening to a zombie apocalypse audiobook as I was while listening to Die Trying: A Zombie Apocalypse. The first part of this story that hooked me immediately taking place during a violent thunder storm in the pitch black of night, where our military guys were trying to track down a mysterious sound in the air, I really thought that was all the story was going to be for awhile and I [...]

    3. This is my first *real* zombie book. The Death Cure had "cranks" in it, their version of zombies which take longer to go insane but honestly, they seem tame compared to the zombies in this book. And what an excellent first zombie book it was. Rating it only on entertainment value I'd give it 5 stars. I was thoroughly wrapped in the story; it clawed it's way into my mind and wouldn't let go. There were, however, a few things which made me keep the rating at 4 stars (possibly even 4.5). The first [...]

    4. Not really sure this was worth 4 stars for me, but not sure that 3.5 is the rating I'd give either. The book wasn't bad - just quite short (well, only about 6 hours or so worth of listening time, which feels short for me compared to other stuff I've listened to). I guess I'm so used to longer novels and more character depth in such cases that I've been spoiled. The story was pretty much non-stop tension/action, with necessary 'breather' time in between. The ending well, it (view spoiler)[was op [...]

    5. I don't usually read zombie books, but this one was very well written from end to end. The characters developed as the story unfolded, and I was kept wrapped in the "what's next" as each page I read and turned. If you like zombie books, this one is sure to grab your attention quickly and it own't let go of you. Highly recommended! :-)

    6. Kept Me Tense ThroughoutThough we don't get as much zombie action as in some books, the terror of the people came through and it made it much more intense. Great book!!

    7. A great zombie novel. Some surprise twists and a crazy ending. this author is great at painting a picture and getting into the lives of his characters. I would recommend this book to any zombie or horror fan.

    8. 4 1/2 star review from Iva Readit for Kota's Book Kollection."I thought nothing could be more terrifying than the undead rising to kill without remorse or reason. But I was wrong."Mitch, Die Trying by Nicholas Ryan, pg. 129.Nicholas Ryan's Die Trying is an adrenalin pumping ride that has you in it's grip from the first page and well beyond the last. It is extremely well written with intriguing characters and a relentless storyline. When Mitch, his brother Jed, and Harrigan hear the sound of a hel [...]

    9. I was given a copy of Die Trying for an honest review and honestly, I really liked it! I am not a Walking Dead fan or any type of paranormal reader (any more), more of a romance reader. Yes I kept hoping there was going to be some sort of romantic twist, however there wasn't and I still liked the story. There is one thing I really like in an author and that is description. Nicholas Ryan is an extremely descriptive writer, so much so I felt like I was watching a zombie movie in my head. The book i [...]

    10. I felt Nicholas Ryan's debut, "Ground Zero," was one of the best zombie novels ever penned, so I was dying to read his sophomore effort and jumped at the opportunity to do so like a starving puma pouncing on helpless prey.So many zombie authors (uh, that's authors who write zombie fiction, not authors who are actually zombies; just wanted to clarify) attempt to nail the winning formula of undead mayhem, high-voltage action, grisly gore, and human drama, but few pull it off with the level of skil [...]

    11. Really great book. I believe this is the second book in the Ground Zero: A Zombie Apocalypse.Trapped amidst the horror of the zombie apocalypse, three men hear the sound of a helicopter overhead and know it represents their last desperate hope to survive the terror and reach safety. But survival comes at a cost - and the undead hordes that ravage the world are not the only lurking evil the men must face. But for Mitch Logan, his brother, Jed, and their friend, Clinton Harrigan, there is no choic [...]

    12. I've said this before, and I'm going to say it againI'm not a huge fan of zombies, but if I'm looking for a bit of flesh eating, brain chomping zombie gore, then Nicholas Ryan is the author I'll turn to. His first book was amazing, so when I got the opportunity to read more from this talented author, I jumped at the chance.Ryan's stories are well developed with plenty of gut-wrenching twists and turns. The suspenseful atmosphere he creates with his plotlines is so thrilling and kept me on the ed [...]

    13. Yay another great zombie read. This was the 2nd book I've read from Mr Ryan and it was another heart stopping read from page one. Nick creates fantastic believable characters introducing Harrison a big burly Christian man and 2 brothers Jed and Mitch who are on the run fighting for survival from humans infected with the jaws virus. With a clever addition in that the dead not only turn into flesh eating zombies, but can hunt their prey successfully too. What makes this book more unique is that it [...]

    14. The suspense of Die Trying starts with Ryan's detail to word choice in the opening scene: the description of a character, his movement, the sound that he heard, and the first word he spoke. I was hooked, and I had to keep reading. As Mitch, the main character, told the story, I felt like I was walking behind him (thankfully) peering over his shoulder as though I was a part of the action or conversation. The action was amazing! In many of the scenes, out of shock or fear, I found myself yelling out [...]

    16. Damn, what a read. Nicholas Ryan is getting better and better with every book in his Zombie apocalyps world! You get caught by the story the instant you start with the first page. The point of view while reading gets the reader on eye-level with the characters. The feelings and the situations the characters have to deal with are crawling under your Skin the moment you read them. You nearly feel the fear, panic, pain and thrilling moments Mitch and the little group of survivors in this small peace [...]

    17. “Die Trying” by Nicholas Ryan A world gone mad, Zombies everywhere and a small handful of humans trying to survive took me into a world that terrified, and amazed me. This is my first book on Zombies and it enthralled me. While trying to survive a small group fight for their survival and the twists and turns along the way held me in suspense as this story unfolded. . I couldn’t put it down. I came away with a mind full of pictures of a world I hope I never see, but a love for a story that [...]

    19. I'm not afraid to say that I wasn't a big zombie fan until The Walking Dead came on tv. Nicholas Ryan's Ground Zero was the first zombie book I ever read and I couldn't wait to read this one. I was not disappointed either! I liked the fact that the cast of characters was not very large, so it's easy to feel emotions for them as you read. Other books I have read have so many characters that I don't feel invested in them too much. It is also good for me that I never knew where Nicholas was going i [...]

    20. Talk about an ending, I wanted moreNicholas Ryan finished the story where my craving wasn't quite quenched. This was my 2nd Horror/Zombie Novel I've read and Nicholas Ryan's writing truly captivates you. I was griped from the beginning, the graphic description he used whether it me an emotion, a feeling or something that was happening before the characters eyes he described each episode as if you were in the moment.Gripping, Yes/ Thrilling, Yes, scary HELL YES. Do I want more? Um Of course. I ca [...]

    21. I didn't know what to expect when reading on book on Zombies, but I must say enjoyed the humor, suspense, action. This is my first Zombie book and first from Mr. Ryan. I must say I laughed out loud on a few occasion, I also picture this as a movie!! I love a book that I see in my head as I read. This isn't just about zombies, it is about survival. What would you do to survive a Zombie Apocalypse me throw my husband to them firstlol embark on the survival of Mitch, Jed and Harrigan as they ventur [...]

    22. I understand that there is very little room for expectation of greatness when it comes to the zombie genre, but this book getting an average of 4 on is a bit much. This is a poster child for the dangers of "tell, don't show". The antagonist doesn't do much except "grunt," "look with rage in his eyes," and "seethe." The hapless victim "fidgets," "flails," and "looks terrified." The narrator is not a person so much as a device for keeping the plot going - he doesn't have any discerning characteris [...]

    23. I was given a free copy of Die Trying for a honest review. Ive always been the type of person who reads everything BUT was never really huge into zombies until now !! Nicholas Ryan has made a huge fan out of me. Die trying sucked me right in and I couldn't put it down. It was intense and invigorating, its full of humor, action and suspense. I wasn't left out in the cold wondering what or how to imagine things in my minds eye, it was very imaginable and I was able to close my eye & picture it [...]

    24. Better than Ground Zero, but not that great. There seem to be overly detailed parts where time slows ridiculously and parts where time seems to just disappear. The end scene doesn't make much sense. Jed is stuck on the road yet it's no problem for an almost dead Mitch and young Jessica to just coast to safety. And I can't take the psychotic old man scene very seriously either. He's very careful of Mitch and then suddenly not. Also the author describes Jed as being a rather dumb and ignorant brut [...]

    25. I really enjoyed the first one and when the chance came to get a shot at the second for freeUhm of course I would read it and post a review. I finished it a few days ago and thanks to work have not had time to write a review. But Honestly I think having a few days to reflect on it truly made me enjoy it more. With fast paced action, twists and turns, and of course Zombies how can someone not enjoy this book? There are even laugh out loud moments that make this book that more enjoyable. I could s [...]

    26. I seriously don't think I could ever read a book about a zombie apocalypse unless Nicholas Ryan is the author. I read. When I began this book I was thinking that it wouldn't be as good as. Ground Zero. Boy. Was. I. Wrong. Again, zombies are not my thing and the descriptions were gory as hell. I really REALLY liked Ground Zero. But I loved Die Trying. It was action packed, gruesome (especially there's one part I actually had to stop reading cause I was so disturbed), suspenseful. I was at the edg [...]

    27. This has to be one of the scariest books I have ever read! Ryan's descriptions are so vivid, so terrifyingly REAL, I felt as if I was in the story! I could feel the fear, the terror that Mitch was feeling! Great book!!! I completely agree with D.A. Wearmouth when he calls it" a heart stopping zombie thriller"! On several occasions I had to stop reading, put the book down, and catch my breath! My heart was pounding so hard I feared it would jump right out of my chest! I recommend it to anyone who [...]

    28. This book wasn't great, nor was it horrible. It was just average. Nothing new and improved, and not much action until the last 50 pages. When I'm reading zombie books, I like plenty of action and likeable characters. Heck, even people I really hate would be kind of o.k. The people in this story were flat. I want to be able to connect with the different characters,.but in the end I didn't care who lived or died. Mr. Ryan is a fairly decent author, but he's not very imaginative. From my point of v [...]

    29. I understand that DJ Molles and Max Brooks are the go to reads for zombie novels, but I'm giving my vote to Nicholas Ryan. This book not only had the shock and horror of the zombie apocalypse, but it had a believable, suspenseful story that grabbed my attention and held it from the first page to the last. I loved the plot twists (and there were several) that crept in when you least expected it. I'm looking forward to Nicholas Ryan's next book and I hope he releases it sooner rather than later.

    30. I received this ARC in exchange for a brutally honest review- and you know how I can get! Great zombie horror story. Fast paced, often brutal/violent, with lots of twists to keep the action going. I've mentioned in other reviews, I'm not a huge fan of the zombie genre, but there have been some great books written lately, and this is one of them. PS- love how they are caught up in the zombie Apocalypse, and their reading material of choice is Stephen King-- loved it! Excellent ending!
