    1. This book was beautiful, I was blown away from it. This book is from three different POV’s we have Vivi, TJ and Angel and following each perspective is truly beautiful, all three are such different characters and watching their friendship blossom in a beautiful story about grief, loss, heartbreaking and healing is truly something special.Although it dealt with some really tough subjects I thought it did a brilliant job on it, we see how Vivi used to be a girl who did it all to not even going t [...]

    2. Wow, what a beautifully crafted book from three remarkable POVs! This book was amazing and beautiful and every way. Everything you need in a novel is in Flight Season. This book not only captured my heart, I learned a thing or two!

    3. This book was absolutely beautiful. The novel follows three main characters: Vivi Flannigan, a college sophomore who is struggling in school after the death of her father, TJ Carvalho, a nursing student working at his huge family's restaurant, and Ángel Solís, an orphaned immigrant from Guatemala who has a life-threatening heart condition. These three characters are thrown together when Vivi gets a summer internship at a hospital- the same hospital where TJ cares for Ángel. What follows is a [...]

    4. Marquardt did it again! She made me feel all sorts of wonderful emotions and delivered a beautiful story. Marquardt impressed me with her last book, The Radius of Us, and I was therefore eager to read more of her work. I was surprised to find that I could love her new book more than her last, but that is exactly what happened.•Pro: I fell for all three main characters instantly. They were all so unique, and each brought something special to this story. •Pro: Vivi, TJ, and Ángel were all so [...]

    5. Solid 4.5 stars. (Half stars GR, get the memo!)Wow. I didn't expect this to be as emotionally moving as it was. I certainly didn't expect to love Vivi, TJ, and Angel as much as I did. There was nothing I didn't love about this book. Nothing. This review will be a struggle to write. I loved the characters that much.

    6. ➳Full review now posted.(This review can also be found on my blog!)"Why is it that we don't want to let the dead be gone?"[4/5](Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review!)Flight Season is a sweet read, lovingly packaged and wrapped in a soft, velvety, pink bow made of floating hearts and twittering birds.Yep. It's that fluffy. This might be more of a personal opinion, but what drew me into this book from the get-go [...]

    7. THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD I CANT STOP CRYING. NOT ONLY IS THE LANGUAGE BEAUTIFUL BUT THE CHARACTERS FEEL REAL FEELINGS AND EVERYTHING IS SO WONDERFULIM CRYIG SO HARD DIVIDJVISJCHAHDAHVS

    8. Flight Season is a beautiful, heartbreaking book that had me smiling and laughing and crying, both despairing and rejoicing in humanity, and so happy just to spend a little time with these amazing characters.Vivi Flannigan has returned home from college for the summer to pull her life together. If she can stick it out at her hospital internship she might have a slim hope of passing her semester's courses. If she can help her mother get back on track, she might be able to save their home. And if [...]

    9. 4.5 stars. "Flight Season" is the story of three very different people: Vivi, TJ, and Angel. Vivi is trying to fix her life after losing her beloved father. Every turn seems to throw more difficulty at her: failing grades, a mother who seems too lost in grief and flakiness to take care of things, and a general uneasy feeling about her future life path. TJ seems stuck in his family business while trying to make something of himself outside of his job at the family restaurant. Angel wanted a bette [...]

    10. Flight Season is a gorgeous tale of love and loss and the power of human connection to heal. This is a stay-up-way-too-late-because-you-can't-put-it-down kind of story.Main characters TJ, Vivi and Angel are strikingly drawn, so real and raw and fleshed out, I know them. More than that - I *was* them, we all were - young adults stumbling and fumbling through the transition into adulthood in all its pain and glory. I truly appreciate the focus on a slightly older set of characters. Young adulthood [...]

    11. What a beautiful book. Frankly, I do not think the blurb does not do this book justice, and I'm finding it hard to find the words to express how poignant I think it is. I think I expected a typical romantic comedy with a slightly annoying sick person to bring the other leads together. Instead, the story introduces two complex stories of people struggling to find peace with the world and three characters I really loved. TJs story is underplayed but there are moments when the beauty of small actio [...]

    14. I fell hard for Flight Season. Loved it.Well-planned and engaging, the story is told from the point of view of three characters. Blending Vivi's birdwatcher's journal with the plot of the story, Marquardt matches various species of birds with scenes from the story, and it worked so well I actually cared about birds, which I so often overlook (Note to HS English teachers: good classroom discussion point . . . what's right in front of us that we don't see?). While I know nothing of ornithology, I [...]

    15. (I received an ARC in a giveaway)This was such a good book and honestly I loved the characters so much! I feel like they came such a long way from the beginning and they didn’t change too quickly. I finished the book in a day and I don’t regret it one bit because I fell in love with these characters and the friendships formed. I cannot wait for the book to officially be released so I can get my hands on a final copy!

    16. Beautiful and heartbreaking are just two of many words than can used to describe Marie Marquardt’s Flight Season. The story follows three points of view; Vivi, a college sophomore, struggling with the grief associated with her father’s death; T.J a nursing student and nurse’s aide, working toward a career outside of his family’s restaurant; and Ángel, an eighteen year old immigrant suffering from a life threatening heart condition. When Vivi and T.J. are thrown together to care for Áng [...]

    17. This is quite an exceptional book. Though I find the ending to be a bit far from what would actually happen, I can't imagine this story without it. Full review to come!2/20/18 -- mindofabookdragon.wordpress.cOnce I picked up this book I could hardly put it down. I’m so glad I brought it along with me on my trip to Chicago last weekend! I rode the train which took so much longer than I thought and it was a perfect companion. I finished it the very next day because I was so tired on the ride bac [...]

    18. I was pleasantly caught off guard by this quiet gem of a novel. This is fitting, since one of the themes of the book is being surprised by the hidden depths of human beings. Another theme is about learning to grow and trust others, while yet another theme is about learning how to grieve. There's a lot packed into Flight Season, but it handles everything admirably. Told from three POVs, what should be an uneventful summer on the coast holds great significance for our narrators. There's Vivi, on t [...]

    19. **ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**Marie Marquardt’s Flight Season is a beautiful story of love and loss and how, with strength from inside and those around you, you can eventually learn to live again.Birds in general are a symbol of freedom. To Vivi, they are phenomenal and are always there when she needs an answer to something important in her life. She’s a quiet Yale student looking at surviving the summer while interning at a hospital. It is here at the hospit [...]

    20. I was a little worried when I started this book, that it would be a flighty romance without much substance and too much description (it's over 300 pages after all). I was pleasantly surprised to find three-dimensional characters, a complex plot that went beyond boy-meets-girl, and good writing to weave it all together. I was first caught by the complexity and honesty of the friendships and interactions the characters had. I enjoy a book when I can get into different character's heads and underst [...]

    21. Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange of an honest review.I usually write down my thoughts as I read ARCs that are provided to me through NetGalley because I want to show my appreciation by writing a great review, but this time around I had a hard time doing that because I was so immersed in the story itself. I'd read for hours and look up from my phone and is hit with the disbelief and surprise that I'm not actually living the story.I easily connect [...]

    22. Original Post: booknauthors/2018Story revolves around 3 different people, Vivi, TJ & Ángel. Vivi loves birds and is pretty obsessed with them. TJ is studying in a community college becoming a nurse. Ángel is a heart patient whose life is at risk 24/7. When TJ discovers that Vivi is the same dancing girl from the bar, the real story gets started from here!!!This novel was one emotional piece of beauty. Vivi is an extremely courageous and strong willed girl handling her mother and tuition fe [...]

    23. I was so pleasantly surprised with this book. Fans of John Green and other contemporary YA authors will love this book. The relationships are the main focal point of this book. While it may be easy to try and classify it as a love story, what made me enjoy it as much as I did is that it is so much more than that. Love yes, but not just romantic love, also friendships and family - even coworkers. The non romantic love lines are what made this story stand out to me. How raw and uninhibited the stor [...]

    24. This book switches between the perspectives of 3 characters: Vivi, who has almost flunked out of Yale after her father's death, and has to complete an internship at a Florida hospital in order to go back, TJ, who has almost graduated from nursing school and is working at the hospital, and Angel, an immigrant teenage heart patient at the hospital. A moving young adult novel with very real, compelling, and unique characters. I couldn't put it down. Many thanks to and the publisher for a free copy [...]

    25. This layered story is much more than sick-lit or romance, it is the story of three individuals with their own faults struggling to make their way. For Viv, she's lost her direction after losing her father in college, but birding has started to help and then her friendship with TJ, a nursing student blossoms when they are left to care for Angel, an orphaned kid on the hospital ward with a heart condition that might lead to death at a young age. How do you grow up, move on, fall in love, and appre [...]

    26. I loved this. Honestly one of the best YA contemporaries that I have read. I expected it to be a typical boy meets girl over summer type of deal but it’s so much more than that. Such a beautiful story with so much heart and great characters that I really came to adore. It was quite unique as well with how the birds were incorporated into the story.
