    3. This was one of the last books Verne wrote, and only translated into English. I can see why it was so long in being translated. It just was not that good of a story. The book could not make up its mind whether it was a travelogue or an adventure story; it tried to be both, and pulled off neither one convincingly.If you are Verne fan you ought to read it just because.
