    1. A delightful, honest book - in a beautiful edition. This was a pleasure to read. P154: Pilgrimages are among the greatest creators of euphoriaP 170: In all its forms, Islamic art is a eulogy and song of praise that is able to communicate the immeasurability of God.P172: The Divine Truth is transmitted through the deficient vessel of language which is human in its limitations. Nice reference back to other chroniclers of the Hajj as well.

    3. Very interesting but also a bit naïve to expect that in a religious setting people will suddenly become "good"
