    1. In the common urban fantasy vampire mythology, IN MEMORIES WE FEAR is a completely different kettle of fish, both in paranormal and physical terms. To further complicate the issue, vampire culture has been decimated by the villain, leaving the main characters to flounder around and find their own way. Eleisha's band of misfits was an interesting group, with a web of interconnecting dependencies that may verge on the unhealthy (but never gets boring). I enjoyed learning about this world as they d [...]

    4. *Rating* 3.0*Genre* Urban Fantasy*Review* (Contains series summary)In Memories We Fear is the fourth novel in the Vampire Memories series. The cast of characters are vampires Eleisha Clevon, Philip Brante, Rose de Spencer, telepathic mortal Wade Sheffield (once attached to the police department as a psychologist), and ghost Seamus de Spencer who died the same day that Rose was turned against her will.Eleisha is still suffering from the events that happened in Denver and is a huge funk (see Memor [...]

    5. 3.5/5Mon avis en FrançaisMy English reviewWhile receiving the fifth book in the series I thought it was time to get into the fourth. It had been years since I had not plunged into this series, and I admit I forgot a lot of things from the first three volumes. It was still a great pleasure to find the characters that I had discovered earlier, even if it is true that I really do not remember them all. The book is a quick read, it only took me two hours from start to end, but I must say that it is [...]

    6. In a field of vampire books, IN MEMORIES WE FEAR is a completely different kettle of fish. This was my first book in the series, and Hendee does a good job of bringing new readers up to speed (she drops information in through multiple character perspectives, in a way that moves action along enough to keep established readers satisfied). Eleisha's little band of misfits is a fascinating group, with a web of interconnecting dependencies that definitely verges on the unhealthy, but never gets borin [...]

    7. I've been enjoying this series, and a lot of the reasons for that and the reasons The Vampire Memories stand out from other urban fantasy fare has remained constant from book to book. I like the treatment of the vampires, how they aren't superstrong and superfast and supereverything; I like that the books revolve around Eleisha, a woman who can be strong without having to be invulnerable or a fierce fighter; I like that these are very much character-driven books, where the plot feels like it's d [...]

    8. I think this is the last of these books I'll read. I liked the first novel in the series but I expected more complex development. I think the author has created some flawed characters intentionally but ultimately, they are all a bit too pathetic and unsympathetic. Their psychology is too inhuman, as if they aren't products of their history and environment. After 200 years and adaption to modern life and Eleisha has never considered a sexual relationship before? the author has written these chara [...]

    9. I really love this series because not only is a completely new and refreshing take on the vampire angle, but because of their abilities to share memories, you're able to receive a really rich history and back-story of all the characters so you have some idea of what shaped their personality. I really enjoyed the first three books in the series, and In Memories We Fear did not disappoint. For people who enjoy books with face-paced action this book may not be for you, as the plot-line, relationshi [...]

    10. "In Memories We Fear" by Barb Hendee is the fourth novel the Vampire Memories series. I have read the previous novels with the third right before this one. I enjoyed every word. Eleisha, a vampire who cares about keeping humans alive, is working with her band of friends - vampires Philip and Rose, a human Wade, and a ghost named Seamus - to find other vampires to teach them how to feed without killing. As telepaths, they can change memories so the human never suspects them. After the almost fata [...]

    11. In Memories We Fear takes a step into sexiness that the previous books did not. While it is still not at all overly sexual like most books in the genre, this book does have enough here to satisfy those hardcore believers in urban vampire = sex. It might not be exactly what you think, but I believe it will satisfy. What I really like about this book is that we see all of Eleisha's group from the Underground taking part in one way or another. In Memories of Envy Wade and Rose were not really major [...]

    12. I actually felt this was one of the better books in the series. Previously I felt like I was sort of on the fence with what I thought about it and I wasn't as drawn to the characters from this series as from The Noble Dead. Now I can honestly say that I enjoy the series and am looking forward to the next book. Hendee does a wonderful job refreshing the scene and bringing reader's up to speed while still moving ahead with the story and developing the character's depth. While I'm still a little di [...]

    13. This series continues to be good. I think the third book might have been the peak for this series, but this installment was still a good read. I really enjoyed Maxim, the new vampire they find in this series. It' also been interesting to follow the dynamic of Julian's little group and after this book I can't wait to see how things play out for Julian. The developments in Eleisha and Phillip's relationship in this novel were also very interesting and I am curious to know how these developments wi [...]

    14. One of the best ever, in this series. I have mixed feelings regarding Elisha's choosing of Philip over Wade but that could be because Elisha met Wade first and I was hoping something would happened between them. Now it looks like vamps stick together and Elisha and Philip are a couple and they interwine their gifts and that to me was an equilant/same thing as having sex. I think I would have perferred they had sex to show how they felt for one another but that the writer's choice. Can't wait to [...]

    15. Perhaps this would have been more enjoyable if I had read the previous three books in the series? As it was, nothing happened. No, really. People argued a lot, there was some fighting, but out of it all it seemed like nothing really happened. Also, I didn't get the "team" aspect of this team at all. The members don't communicate at all, each goes their own way, they lie and mislead each other, and they are all pretty unpleasant. As mentioned above, perhaps it's because I've just read the 4th boo [...]

    16. A series of killings in England point to a new-and feral-vampire. Vampires Eleisha and Philip and their human companion travel to London to make contact with the terrified creature, to offer him sanctuary and stop the bloodshed. But the vampire they find is not what they expected

    17. A good read but the story line isn't developing as fast paced or as action-y as I thought it would. Its very slow with only a little bit of predictable action at the end. Also, I can't believe it took 4 books for Eleisha and Phillip to progress in their relationship to something a bit more adult and a little less teenage.

    18. Another well written book by Barb Hendee. This one goes deeper into Elisha's little community as she tries to balance her life on the west coast and remembering that she must go back out into the world to help other vampires.

    19. This is the first book in this series that I have read. It was easy to read and I wasn't lost even though I had not read earlier books. Fast moving, there is always something going on. I will be seeking out the other books in this series and other series by this author.

    20. Much better than the previous two, but far from perfect. Although I enjoyed Maxim's storyline, probably the most of anyone's. The writing seemed crisper and tighter this time around, but the repetitiveness still remains.

    21. I liked this book a little better then the first three. I am starting to get into this series and I am about to start the last book. I hope she writes more to the series.

    22. I have not read the previous books in this series. I kind of now wish I had. The book was very enjoyable!
