    1. “Daughter of Dreams” is sexy and romantic, philosophical and poetic. It has a well-conceived plot and a delightful number of extremely engaging characters. Although the story is long and I am a slow reader, this story sped by for me, each chapter ending in a way that compelled me to turn the page and read more. There is plenty of dialogue, a beautiful collection of internal monologues, and many vivid musings on human relationships, both at an intimate level and one of larger scale. Three env [...]

    2. Miller's Daughter of Dreams takes place in a futuristic, post-pandemic world closely resembling our own. The planet is divided into territories and technology has advanced, making bugging and eavesdropping a daily concern for everyone. Following a vast epidemic of the 'zeta virus', a weapon meant for biological warfare, a scientist living in the territory known simply as the City discovers the miracle cure. Unfortunately, it is this discovery that plunges him and his daughter Serda into a whirlw [...]

    3. Serda is a young woman haunted by her dreams and by a power she can neither understand nor control. I think her character will be greatly appreciated by people who have a broader or more mature sense of the world, especially those who understand that pain, power, fear, and lust can be simply overwhelming to the individual who experiences them, even if that person refrains from exposing themselves to the outside world. Serda is one of those individuals. She is very familiar with darkness, with be [...]

    4. Jared Manning has a secret, one that, if learned, would bring into being a weapon of unimaginable power and destruction. He has set up a plan so that when the Guardians of the City – the powerful police force originally set up to ensure the peace and security of the citizens of the City, which have now started walking the edge of a totalitarian regime – come for him, he and his daughter can escape the city. But he worries about Serda – she has always suffered from terrible nightmares, and [...]

    5. Jared and his daughter, Serda, are in danger. He has stumbled upon a scientific breakthrough that people would kill to have. Jared has set up an elaborate warning and escape system, and when it goes off, all seems to be working as planned. But when only Serda makes it out of the city safely, Jared finds himself trapped and hunted. Serda makes her way to a place known as the Communes where she begins to rebuild her life, only to have it come tumbling down again. She once again falls into a terrib [...]

    7. There is a whole lot of philosophy and existentialism in this quite long book. I was expecting a science fiction with a bit dystopian thrown in but it was substantially deeper. While this book will make you think it is not without its flaws. The characters were all a little too rational in their thinking processes- or rather in the aspect that they actually thought more about their actions and in-actions than most people in general probably do. It could be counter-argued that the "humanity" in th [...]

    8. This book was fantastic! It deserves a second, possibly third repeat read. Strong, character-driven plot, philosophical and thought provoking, yet plenty of humor, romance, action and sci-fi goodness. A long book, 634 printed pages, yet seems much shorter as the story flows smoothly, and never seems to bog down. A pleasant read. Real characters with real quirks, problems and issues, but still extremely likeable, as they make their way through Mr. Miller's grand universe. *Happily won this book t [...]

    9. I won this book thru Library Thing and normally I really do not care for science fiction novels, but this one was an exception. Although the novel is quite long, it keeps you captivated and wanting to read more and more. I found that it really picked up towards the end and I literally could not put it down. I liked that this book had a little bit of everything in it, sci-fi, romance, action, humor. The characters were very likeable and intermingled well. I am grateful to get a copy of this book. [...]
